DAY 11: BHARATPUR/RANTHAMBORE Morning drive to Ranthambore (5 - 6 hrs.) and check into your hotel. Situated in south-west Rajasthan, where the Vindhayas and the Aravalli Hills, the Ranthambore National Park is bound by the rivers Chambal, in the south and Banas in the north. After another safari early in the morning drive to Jaipur (2 1/2 hrs.). The city capital of Rajasthan. This is the only city in the world symbolising the nine divisions of the unicerse through nine rectangular sectors subdividing it. The Palaces and forts of yesteryears that were witness to royal processions and splendor are now living monuments, accepted quite naturally into the lifestyles of the people of the Pink City. Assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon proceed for city sightseeing, visiting the Maharaja's City Palace which now houses a museum containing rare manuscripts, fine specimens of Rajput and Mughal miniature paintings and weapons. Morning sightseeing tour by first driving throug the Pink - rose residential and business areas of the Pink City. Drive past the Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds. Visit to Amber Fort. You ride up to the ramp of this 11th century Bastion atop a gaily decorated elephant. Later free for shopping, Jaipur is famous for major gems and jewellery centre where one can find some of te finest jewellery besides woollen carpets and cotton rugs, hand - block printed Sanganeri and bagru cotton fabrics.
