ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrive Delhi

Meet & assist on arrival. Transfer to hotel. Afternoon Old Delhi tour. Former center of Mughal Power, Old Delhi offers ancient monuments, narrow streets & bustling bazaars. Visit the Jama Masjid, the greatest mosque in India and completed in 1658 by Shah Jahan. Visit Red Fort & Raj Ghat, the simple memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi

After breakfast sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Drive past the straightly government buildings of the British Era designed by Lutyens, including the India Gate & the Presidential Palace. Continue onwards to the Qutube Miner, the tower of victory erected by Qutub-ud-din-Aibak. Visit Humayun's Tomb. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 03: Delhi – Agra (4 hrs drive)

After breakfast drive to Agra. Check into hotel. Afternoon visit Agra Fort where highlights include Jahangiri Mahal, Khas Mahal & Diwan-i-khas. Later visit Itmad-ud-Daulah mausoleum, also known as the "Baby Taj", this tomb predates the Taj Mahal. Overnight in Agra.

Day 04: Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur (5 hrs drive)

Morning sunrise tour of Taj Mahal, one of the world's most beautiful monument, built as a memory to Mumtaz Mahal, wife of Emperor Shah Jahan. Highlights include the Marble Screen, the Pietra Dura & tomb chamber. After breakfast drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri. Built between 1569 & 1585 by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar, it is a masterpiece in sandstone glowing in subtly changing shades of pink & red as the day progress & the light fades. Fatehpur Sikrri was originally intended to be joint capital with Agra. It remains a testimony to Mughal grandeur. Check into hotel. Evening free to explore the bazaars of the Pink City. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 05: Jaipur

Morning tour of Amber Fort, on elephant back. The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build & now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the life style of the Rajput ruling families. Later full day sightseeing tour. "The Pink City" is spectacularly set within surrounding rugged hills, dotted with ancient ruined fortresses. The tour includes the imposing City Palace, still home to the Maharaja although several of the rooms are now open to the public. Many antiques and artifacts belonging to the ruling family are housed here, including a collection of weaponry. Visit the Hawa Mahal "Palace of the Winds", & the open air Jantar Mantar Observatory to see the vast astronomical instruments. Overnight in Samode.

Day 06: Jaipur – Udaipur

Half day free at the pink city or optionally visit Samode Palace for linch. Afternoon transfer to airport to board flight to Udaipur. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 07: Udaipur

After breakfast city tour of Udaipur. Visit the City Palace Museum, Saheliyo Ki Badi, the favorite gardens of the queen & her maidens & Jagdish Temple. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 08: Udaipur – Mumbai – Kochi

After breakfast transfer to airport to board flight to Kochi via Mumbai. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in Kochi.

Day 09: Kochi

With its wealth of historical associations & its beautiful setting on a cluster of islands, Kochi is one of India's most cosmopolitan cities famed for its natural harbor, one of the finest in the world. Visit St. Francis Church, the oldest church in India. The Dutch Mattancherry palace, Jewish Synagogue, Parishath Thampuram Museum, Chinese fishing Nets.

Day 10: Kochi – Periyar (5 hrs drive)

After breakfast drive to Periyar. Check into the hotel. Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 800 sq. kms in Thekkady District of Kerala on the border with Tamil Nadu & is one of the most important National Parks in India. It boasts of elephants, bisons, antelopes, sambars, wild boars and if one is lucky, even tigers. Periyar is the best sanctuary in India for watching & photographing elephants at close quarters. Overnight stay at Periyar.

Day 11: Periyar

Morning park safari on boat. Afternoon enjoy jungle walk or drive to Murikkady, which is five kms from Thekkady & well – Known for its pepper, cardamom & coffee plantations. Overnight in Periyar.

Day 12: Periyar – Kumarakom

After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Check into the hotel. Kumarakom the charming emerald peninsula jutting into the Vembanad Lake takes you into the heart of the scenic lake where you will come across plenty of traditional country crafts, boats & canoes. The fresh water of the lake runs into the mainland making a labyrinth of lagoons, brooks, canals & waterways. The backwater houses a variety of species of both fauna & flora. They are rich with marine life namely the exclusive "Kumarakom Karimeen" (peral spotted fish), Konju (tiger prawns), Njandu (crabs), Chemeen (prawns) & many more. Evening free at the backwater to enjoy an exotic sea food buffet(optional at extra cost). Overnight in Kumarakom.

Day 13: Kumarakom – Marari Beach (1hr drive)

After breakfast transfer to Marari Beach Resort by boat. The village of Mararikulam in Alleppey district, Kerala is tucked away behind a line of dense palms that rise like a sudden rampart of green out of the sands. Like all villages, it has evolved naturally, in picturesque disorder. The huts are slapdash adobe, thatched with palm & tied with coir, or coconut rope. Neat & scrupulously clean footpaths veer between the huts & everywhere, the pungent scent of the sea mingle with the fragrance of coconut oil & spice. Overnight in Marari Beach.

Day 14: Marari Beach

Days free at Marari Beach. Overnight in Marari Beach.

Day 15: Marari Beach – Kochi – Mumbai

After breakfast drive to Kochi airport to board flight to Mumbai. Transfer to international airport for onward Journey.
